We are about to witness the conclusion of the 2023/2024 NBA season. In the finals, we have two teams with diametrically different paths. Boston had a smooth ride, while Dallas had multiple exploits. But which of the two teams will become the 2024 NBA champion?

What to say about these finals? We all expected Boston in the NBA finals because their regular season was nearly perfect with over 60 wins this season (64-18). Throughout this season, there were no notable injuries. Chemistry developed, and the duo, or rather the trio of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Kristaps Porzingis stepped up. Seeing them in the finals is absolutely no surprise.

On the other hand, for the Dallas Mavericks, given their regular season, it’s clearly a surprise to see them in the NBA finals. Why? Throughout the season, the Mavs hovered between the 7th and 10th place with chemistry between Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving not clicking. When the Mavs’ point guard was good, Irving was less effective and vice versa. The change came after the All-Star Games, with two trades that many could have called trivial but which brought major changes. The arrival of Daniel Gafford from the Washington Wizards and the arrival of PJ Washington from the Charlotte Hornets. Since then, Dallas has only risen in power. The Texans have one of the two best records in the NBA after the All-Star break. The chemistry clicked.

2nd round: Win 4-1 against the Cleveland Cavaliers

Eastern Conference Finals: Sweep 4-0 against the Indiana Pacers

The Boston Celtics certainly benefited from the misfortunes of their opponents, but we believe they would have reached the NBA finals anyway due to the significant gap in the East.

1st round: Win 4-2 against the Los Angeles Clippers.

2nd round: Win 4-2 against the young Oklahoma City Thunder and rising star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Western Conference Finals: Win 4-1 against the Minnesota Timberwolves and Anthony Edwards.

These NBA finals will be exceptional, as these teams have dominated their respective conferences. The only downside to note is the condition of Kristaps Porzingis during these finals.
